Insurance fraud is being targeted by the San Diego County District Attorney.

In between come-ons for the latest films and snack treats, movie-goers in county theaters will witness a series of short ads.

They’re aimed at curbing insurance fraud, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis said in a statement. It’s hoped the ads will make people think twice before committing workers’ compensation and auto insurance fraud.

Questions about the technology are legitimate. Consider that the Transportation Security Administration is asking for $573 million in taxpayer funds in the 2011 fiscal year to buy, operate and maintain the units.

While authorities in San Diego of course would like to capture every deserving bad guy (or gal), a select few make the “Most Wanted” list.

The San Diego office of the FBi has released its list of the top three bank robbers they’d most like to catch at this time. The men listed here have robbed anywhere from two to 12 banks and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Alert and honest citizens will be on the lookout for these men and, if they have information to offer, contact the local FBI office. If you’re outside the U.S., authorities advise contacting the nearest American embassy or consulate. In San Diego, the FBI number to call is: (858) 565-1255.

More than 425 pounds of illegal weed was discovered hidden in lawn furniture made of concrete during a shipment inspection at the Otay Mesa port cargo facility on Friday.

The shipment of furniture on pallets entered the port from Mexico shortly after noon via a tractor-trailer rig, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman said.
